Két leicesteri rhythm and blues bandából, a Jim King-ből és a The Farinas-ból alakult meg a hatvanas-hetvenes évek fordulójának egyik legizgalmasabb formációja, a Family. Annak ellenére, hogy sohasem jutottak el a sztár státuszig, a banda egyike a korszakot meghatározó progresszív együtteseknek. Nagyon hamar a kritikusok kedvenceivé váltak és egész szép rajongótábort is toboroztak zenéjükkel. Ennek az egyedi hangzású zenének a két meghatározó egyénisége Roger "Chappo" Chapman, valamint a kétnyakú fendergitárt előszőr használó Charlie Whitney. Chapman karcos, szivart és whiskyt idéző hangja valamint Whitney egyedi gitárjátéka volt az alap amelyre a Family hangzásvilágát, stílusát építette...
