American rock and roll group founded by guitarist John Cipollina after leaving the band Quicksilver Messenger Service in 1970.

John Cipollina (August 24, 1943 - May 29, 1989) was a guitarist best known for his role as a founder and the lead guitarist of the prominent San Francisco rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service. After leaving Quicksilver he formed the band Copperhead, was a member of the San Francisco All Stars and later played with numerous other bands.

In spring 1969, Alcatraz was set up from the suburban groups. In fall 1971 Jahnke established contacts to the producer Jimi Boyks, who then produced their debut "Vampire State Building". Recorded at Faust's Wümme Studio, the album was issued in 1972 by Phillips.

Lynn Carey and Neil Merryweather were a vocal duo who recorded the 1971 album Vacuum Cleaner for RCA Victor. Their collaboration began after Merryweather’s band added Carey. 

The album featured two distinct backing lineups: one with the Ivar Avenue Reunion crew and another with former Merryweather bandmates Edward Roth and Coffi Hall, plus guitarist Kal David. Following this release, the pair formed the soul-rock band Mama Lion, which released two albums in 1972 and 1973.

American rock band. The CK in the band's name refers to the two founding members, viz. Lynn Carey & Jeff Kewley. The band began in the summer of 1969 when second guitarist Westen joined. Carey left the group shortly before the production of the second album started, to join Mama Lion. Kewley later joined the Alice Cooper Band and toured also with Jerry Garcia. Together with Geoff Westen both performed with Mac Davis. Westen also performed with the underground psychedelic band The Other Half but soon became owner of Oz Studios in Los Angeles, USA.

Brazilian rock band that started at the home of brothers Ronaldo and Renato Bakker on Gurupi Street, located in the Grajaú neighborhood in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

Red Snakes recorded the LP that would come to be called "Trying To Be Someone". For the first time, the band recorded their own composition. There were five of them, and all in English. Among the cover songs were the classics "Slow Down" (by Larry Williams) and "Bye Bye Love" (by the Everly Brothers), the beautiful and little-known "Onie" the heavy blues track "Born Under A Bad Sign" as well as "Chester Fever" and "Welcome My Love".

The Spencer Davis Group were a British rock band formed in Birmingham in 1963 by Spencer Davis (guitar), brothers Steve Winwood (vocals, keyboards, and guitar) and Muff Winwood (bass guitar) and Pete York (drums). 

"The Spencer Davis Group is fondly remembered for their late-1960s singles that featured the deep soul vocals of Steve Winwood, then only a teenager. Singles like "Somebody Help Me", "Keep on Running", "Gimme Some Lovin'", and "I'm a Man" were solid R&B rockers, making The Spencer Davis Group one of the most explosive bands in the so-called British Invasion era. Blue Effect was a Czech rock band, also operating under the names M. Efekt, Modrý Efekt, or the Special Blue Effect, since their formation in 1968. The band's main and only permanent member, from its founding until his death in 2016, was guitarist Radim Hladík, formerly of the Matadors. Blue Effect changed their musical style several times, ranging from blues rock, jazz fusion to art rock.

Madder Lake are an Australian progressive rock band formed in Melbourne in 1968 as San Sebastian. They were one of the first bands signed to the Michael Gudinski co-owned Mushroom Records which released their debut single, "Goodbye Lollypop" in February 1973, followed by the album Stillpoint in August. This contained their most recognisable single, "12lb Toothbrush". Their second album Butterfly Farm was released in April 1974, they left Mushroom after their last single, "I Get High" appeared in July 1976. A compilation album The Best of Madder Lake was released by Mushroom Records in 1978.

Rick Nelson formed The Stone Canyon Band in 1969 to transition from his teen idol persona to a respected country-rock musician. The original lineup featured Randy Meisner (bass, later of the Eagles), Tom Brumley (steel guitar), Allen Kemp (guitar), and Patrick Shanahan (drums). Key albums include In Concert at the Troubadour (1969), Rick Sings Nelson (1970), and Garden Party (1972).  Nelson died in a plane crash in 1985, and while the band’s name was officially dropped after 1975, the group remained a staple of his live performances until his death.

The Wilson McKinley formed in Spokane, WA, in 1968, originally comprised of singer/guitarist Mike Messer, singer/bassist Don Larson, guitarist Randy Wilcox and drummer Tom Slipp. The band released several albums influenced by Christian lyrics and mixed with the hippie psychedelic rock that was going on back in the late 60s and early 70s.... In the summer of 1971, the band released its second LP, the critically acclaimed "Spirit of Elijah." Once again, self-production was the rule of the day but this time the album made a stab at studio production values and featured a nice stereo mix.

Canadian rhythm and blues and soul band from the 1960s.

The group started as The Rogues, renamed themselves to The Five Rogues and to Mandala in 1966. Mandala disbanded in 1969, after which Troiano and some of the other members formed the new band Bush. 

Mandala released one and only LP Soul Crusade in 1968, which is a mix of wild-eyed organ soul, heavy R&B and fuzzed-out garage sounds.

Company Caine, were an Australian progressive rock band. They were formed in March 1970... First album "A Product Of A Broken Reality" on Generation Records. They used the TCS Studio, it was produced by Gus McNeil and engineered by John French. The album reached the top 40 on the Kent Music Report Albums Chart. Australian musicologist, Ian McFarlane, described the album as a milestone of the early 1970s progressive rock era as their music was more expansive, more out there than just about every band of the day.
