Ohio-based Dixie Peach was formed in 1972 by slide guitarist, singer and songwriter Ira Stanley, keyboardist Steve Williams, bassist Mike "Roscoe" Rousculp, guitar player Tony Paulus, keyboards, and drums Jerry Barnhart. They released one album before disbanding in 1975. After reforming in 1998 and releasing Butta in 2002, they released another album in 2013. The album features guest appearances by friends of the original members, with the exception of drummer Jerry Barnhart.

Psychedelic Funk Blues Rock

Grootna was a Berkeley, California-based band formed in 1971 by vocalist Anna Rizzo, lead guitarist Vic Smith, pianist Richard Sussman, rhythm guitarist Slim Chance, bassist Kelly Bryan, and drummer Dewey DaGrease. The band acquired well-known San Francisco concert promoter Bill Graham as their manager and signed with Columbia Records. Their self-titled debut album was released in December 1971. It failed to chart. Grootna continued to perform around the Bay Area in the summer of 1972, before disbanding. Their music was a typical Columbia jazz-rock-soul-pop hybrid, with a touch of funk.

Yma Sumac, originally known as Zoila Augusta Emperatriz Chávarri del Castillo, (September 13, 1922, Ichocán, Peru – November 1, 2008, Los Angeles, California) was a legendary Peruvian-American soprano singer who gained worldwide fame for her enormous vocal range. According to some sources, her vocal range in her heyday "well exceeded three octaves", according to other sources she could reach five octaves... In 1971, she recorded and released a rock album titled Miracles.

Miracles is a studio album by Peruvian vocalist/performer Yma Sumac, produced by Les Baxter and released in 1972 on London Records.

The Fabulous Rhinestones were an R&B-based band formed in San Francisco in 1971 by former Illinois Speed ​​Press guitarist/vocalist Kal David and ex-Electric Flag (and Bob Dylan, Al Kooper and Miles Davis) bassist Harvey Brooks. They moved to Woodstock, New York, where they played with a number of Chicago bluesmen, including Paul Butterfield... The band released three albums over the next three years, all of which received critical acclaim without selling in huge numbers... The band disbanded in the mid-1970s. Kal David later played with Etta James, Al Kooper and Johnny Rivers... A reissue of the Fabulous Rhinestones albums was released on Japanese CDs in 2011.
