Heavy Balloon - 32,000 Pound (1969/?) Lyrical Sound Device - LSD-AZ-5001

MP3/320/97MB
Heavy Psychedelic

"Only release from obscure U.S. heavy psycho blues band Heavy Balloon. Heavy Balloon was not really a band in itself, but a gathering of musicians. One song is titled "Lead Zeppalin" (not to confuse the name with "Led Zeppelin"). But it's more diverse than you would expect with violin, piano and ocassional female vocalist. More of a collective than an actual band". DW

Tracks
1. Barnyard Blués (5:50)
2. On My Way Down (4:39)
3. My Very Own Sweetheart (4:03)
4. T.C Topcat Blues (2:46)
5. Sixteen Tons (5:38)
6. Lead Zeppelin (2:32)
7. I Don't Need No Doctor (5:03)
8. Owed To Sgt. Pepper (2:47)

  1. I was sick with the flu one weekend in 1970. I was listening to underground FM radio and they were having a contest to win this album. You had to send in a postcard and be one of ten postcards selected to win this album. I sent in a John & Yoko card and won. This is one of the greatest albums ever. Sure, it's uneven as hell, but it's also got some of the best rock n roll moments of all time! Follow this up with the Masked Marauders album and you have bookended the late 60s/early 70s. Thanks a lot!
