The album was recorded at Rockfield and Island Studios and features a blend of jazz-rock, jazz-funk, progressive rock, and classic rock styles. The band Clancy was formed in London, England, and featured key members including Dave Skinner (keyboards, vocals), Ernie Graham (guitar, vocals), Colin Bass (bass), Barry Ford (drums), Gaspar Lawal (percussion) and Dave Vasco (guitar).
