MP3/320Kbs/78MB

Psychedelic and Progressive Rock

Waiters On The Dance is a music album by Julian Jay Savarin, released in 1971. It is a science fiction concept album that shares its title with the first novel of Savarin's Lemmus trilogy, which also serves as the basis for the two concept albums by the musical group Julian's Treatment. The album features Julian Jay Savarin as the main artist, with John Dover on bass, Nigel Jenkins on guitar, Roger Odell on drums, and Jo Meek on vocals. It is noted for its heavy and aggressive sound, with Mellotron and cosmic organ playing significant roles in the music. The album is considered an excellent piece of psychedelic and progressive rock.
Julian Jay Savarin, born in Dominica and moved to Great Britain in 1962, is known for his work as a musician, songwriter, poet, and science fiction author. Doctor Feelgood - Something To Take Up Time (1971/2007) FootPrint Records - FPR 29016

MP3/320Kbs/105MB
Progressive/Blues/Jazz Rock

Not to be confused with Dr. Feelgood, the UK pub-rock group, this is an LP by Doctor Feelgood, an unrelated American outfit specializing in moody, heavy blues-rock and obscurity. That band's lone 1971 LP, which features strong psychedelic blues-rock in the spirit of early Tull, and a woodwind player clearly influenced by both Ian Anderson and free-jazz, is long out of print on vinyl and long sought after by serious heads. (lpcdreissues) I can only recommend it!

Paladin (1971/2007) Esoteric Records - ECLEC2005

MP3/320Kbs/101MB
progressive rock mix of rock, blues, soul, jazz

Paladin was a British progressive rock band which released two albums on the Bronze Records label. They played in venues across the UK as they worked to develop their sound, performing a mix of rock, blues, soul, jazz, and Latin music. Paladin's use of dual keyboards also created a unique sound. These performances were noticed by Bronze Records (who also recorded Uriah Heep and Manfred Mann). On January 8, 1971, Paladin entered Olympic Studios in London to record their debut eponymous first album, produced by Philamore Lincoln. The reviews were good, but the sales were disappointing... The group disbanded near the end of 1972.

01. Bad Time 6:53
02. Carry Me Home 3:26
03. Dance Of The Cobra 7:42

Virus - Thoughts (1971/1991) Pilz 2021102-9

MP3/320Kbs/92MB
progressive rock

German progressive rock band from Bielefeld, active in the early 1970s.
Virus were a psychedelic band originating from Bielefeld in Northern Germany. They released only two albums "Revelation" (1970) and "Thoughts" (1971). The album was recorded in Star Studios, Hamburg and produced by Konrad Plank. The Virus lineup for the first album is: Werner Monka (guitar), Jörg-Dieter Krahe (organ), Bernd "Molle" Hohmann (vocals, flute), Reinhold Spiegelfeld (bass) and Wolfgang Rieke (drums).
The second album "Thoughts" is a big change from their first one. The lineup change considerably as well, leaving only Krahe and Rieke from the original group. The new members were: Axel Nieling (drums), Jürgen Schäfer (bass, vocals), Bernd Rösner (guitar) and Werner Vogt (bass, guitar, vocals). In this album they abandoned their long tracks and space rock and psychedelic nature. This album presents a more mainstream approach with blues rock songs. Therefore this would not be of interest for those looking them for their psychedelic and progressive sound.

Pollution (1971 Vinyl) Prophesy Records - SD 6051

MP3/320Kbs/86MB
jazz-funk/soul

Pollution were an American jazz-funk/soul band from Los Angeles that released two eponymous albums on Prophesy Records in 1971/72. The music on both releases is soul-inspired rock with horns and occassional nods to country rock. I wouldn't call it psychedelic but it definitely draws on 60s era rock as well as period social concerns. The first album is is the funkiest of the two, in part because of the contribution of Dobie Gray, who has a much more soulful sound than the vocalists on the 2ns album. Tinariwen (ⵜⵏⵔⵓⵏ) - Amadjar (2019) Wedge - CD00119

MP3/320Kbs/129MB
mix of blues, rock and traditional Tuareg music (world music)

"Music is perhaps the most universal of the performing arts and is found in every society, most often as an integral part of other performing art. Excellence in music performance involves two major components like a genuine understanding of what the music is about, its structure and meaning, and a complete mastery of the instrumental technique."
Amadjar is the eighth album by the Tuareg band Tinariwen, released on September 6, 2019. The album's title means "the foreign traveler" in the Tamashek language.
Tinariwen (Tamasheq: ⵜⵏⵔⵓⵏ; with vowels ⵜⵉⵏⴰⵔⵉⵡⵉⵏ; plural of ténéré meaning "desert") is a collective of Tuareg musicians from the Sahara region of southern Algeria and of northern Mali, in the region of Azawad.
