MP3/320/91MB
Country Rock

Holy Mackerel was a British rock band from Kent that formed from the ashes of UK psych legends Jason Crest plus members of cult rockers Samuel Prody and Orang Utan. The quintet coalesced in 1972, and having honed their material in the North of England, they became an immediate success on the live circuit and were soon offered the chance to make an LP. Issued at the end of the year, it drew on prog, country, pop and rock influences but failed to connect commercially though it is recognised as a lost classic today.
Twenty years later, "Closer To Heaven" (which has been digitally remastered from the sole surviving copy, recorded in 1973 originally for Santa Ponsa.)
