Clifton Chenier (June 25, 1925 - December 12, 1987) was an American musician known as a pioneer of zydeco a style of music that arose from Creole music with R&B, blues and Cajun influences. He sang and played the accordion. Chenier won a Grammy Award in 1983. Chenier was known as the King of Zydeco, and also billed as the King of the South.

Knight wrote and sang all of the songs, except for four instrumentals, which are credited to Hendrix... 

Curtis Knight (May 9, 1929 – November 29, 1999), born Mont Curtis McNear, was an American musician who is known for his association with Jimi Hendrix. Ed Chalpin (January 16, 1935 – October 1, 2019 ) was a record executive and producer. He is most remembered for his association with Curtis Knight & the Squires which caused problems for Jimi Hendrix throughout his career. Chalpin is responsible for the recordings from that period, some of which appear on You Can't Use My Name: The RSVP/PPX Sessions...

After years of litigation, Experience Hendrix, a family company that has managed Hendrix's recording legacy since 1995, acquired the sole rights to the Knight/Ed Chalpin/PPX material. According to producer/engineer Eddie Kramer, You Can't Use My Name presents the best available original recordings without the subsequent doctoring.

Bergen Blues Band was a Norwegian blues band from Bergen, Norway, active 1974 to 1984. The band was founded and led by John Magnar Bernes vocalist and harmonica player, alias "Hungry John", along with Per Jørgensen on guitar (replaced by Ole Thomsen in 1981), Kåre Sandvik on piano (1974-81), Edvard Askeland bass (replaced by Rune Rønning in 1981, and later Atle Mjørlaug 1983, and Frank Jakobsen drums (replaced by Willy Korneliussen in 1976. The band was formed in Caracas in 1970 by José "Joseito" Romero (guitar), Jesús "Torito" Toro (vocals), Ender Parra (bass) and Gustavo Calles (drums). Their musical style leaned towards heavy rock.

The band achieved considerable recognition and participated in various festivals during the early 1970s, and the power of their sound garnered a large following. They released a single with the songs "Amándote esta Dios" and "Mundo". The compilation album "2001 Juvenil" (1971) included two of the band's tracks: "This natural place" and "What is the matter with you Janne," and their discography consisted of only four songs.

The group disbanded in 1971, and José Romero, along with Ender Parra, went on to form another cult band in Venezuela: Bacro. In 2012, the German label Shadoks released the limited edition LP, Tsee Mud... which included tracks from the group combined with those from two other important bands where José Romero played Bacro and LSD.
