13 Smash Hits is a studio album by Welsh singer Tom Jones, released in December 1967 on Decca Records. Despite the title, it is not a compilation album but an assortment of covers of hits by other singers.
*Tom Jones into a solo career, with his backing group, initially known as The Squires. The Squires, which included Mickey Gee on guitar, Vernon Hopkins on bass, Chris Slade on drums and Bill Parkinson on guitar, performed with Jones from 1963 to 1969.

Assorted Shrubbery is the sole album by the short-lived Chicago-based band The Bushes, released in 1968 on the independent label Growth Records (catalog LP 200-08). The band, composed of white musicians Ron Stockert (keyboards/bass), Al Johnson (guitar), Joel Wilson (vocals), and John Zefo (drums), blended soul, blues rock, and psychedelic influences into a unique, if commercially overlooked, sound. The album features a mix of covers and originals. It was reissued in 2020 by Audio Clarity (ACL 0049), making it more accessible to modern audiences.

Quiet World were an English pop rock band formed by The Heather Brothers John, Lea, and Neil Heather in 1969. The group consisted of John (vocals, songwriting), Lea (vocals, songwriting), and Neil (songwriting), as well as Steve Hackett (lead guitar) and his brother John Hackett (guitar), Dick Driver (bass), Gill Gilbert (backing vocals), Phil Henderson (keyboards), Eddy Hines (flute) and Sean O'Mally (drums).
Quiet World released their debut concept album The Road in 1970. Shortly thereafter, Steve Hackett left to join the progressive rock group Genesis as lead guitarist.

The Box Tops is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1967. The Box Tops' music combined elements of soul music and light pop.
An album called The Letter/Neon Rainbow appeared in November 1967. The Box Tops released three albums over a nine-month period from late 1967 to mid 1968. Some of the group's instrumental tracks were performed by session musicians like Reggie Young, Tommy Cogbill, Gene Chrisman, and Bobby Womack.
